Adult industry newcomer Tyler Cruise has had a whirlwind year which has been topped off with this year’s “Best Supporting Actor” award nomination for his role in director’s Axel Braun’s latest comic book parody Spideypool XXX. Braun is known for his hugely popular parodies of mainstream hits such as Star Wars, Avatar, Batman, Ghostbusters and Deadpool, just to name a few.
Fans and critics agree that Spideypool XXX is one of Braun’s best and the 11 AVN nominations speak for themselves. Tyler Cruise picks up a well-deserved nomination for Best Supporting Actor for playing Peter Parker and the masked web-slinger.
Tyler impressed everyone in Braun’s camp with his initial audition and won the role. Nexxxt Level co-owners Jonathan Morgan and Andre Madness worked with Tyler on his initial audition submission to make sure they dotted the i’s and crossed the t’s.
Axel had this to say about his reaction to Tyler’s audition footage, “Tyler’s audition tape showed me not only a great understanding of the character, but also a high level of commitment. He had memorized all his lines and delivered them flawlessly, with nuance and purpose. I had already gone through over 60 submissions for the role of Spider-Man, some of which were excellent, but I immediately knew Tyler was the one.”
Until he was offered the role in Spideypool XXX, Tyler’s experience with on camera dialogue was somewhat limited, so Axel needed to be sure he would be able to deliver the performance the role required. “I had never worked with him, so I asked Jonathan if he could arrange a meeting so I could get a feel for him. The next day I sat down for breakfast with Tyler, who drove in from Vegas for the meeting, and I found him polite, respectful, articulate and very level-headed. Within five minutes I told him he got the part. He was genuinely excited and told me “I won’t let you down”. He didn’t. Working with him was a pleasure, his performance was fantastic and his attitude exceptional.”
Tyler’s performance in Spideypool XXX is the film’s sole major acting nomination for the AVN Awards and he’s thrilled with the nomination and how the project has been received. Tyler said, “Working for Axel Braun in “Spideypool XXX” has definitely been my favorite time in the industry so far. Everything I learned on set from both the crew and fellow performers is going help me for the rest of my career. Plus, it’s always nice to have your hard work recognized with an AVN nomination at the end of the year!”
Jonathan Morgan, co-owner of Nexxxt Level was quoted in saying, “Everyone at Nexxxt Level was thrilled when Axel’s production manager, Marc Kramer, sent the message over that Tyler had gotten the role of Spider-Man. He spent a lot of time working on his audition, the script and getting the character down which shows in the final product,”

Axel has shot many movies and worked with many different performers throughout his career and said Tyler is on a pathway to great achievements, “This is a great kid with a bright future, who understands the responsibilities and challenges of a big production and is willing to go above and beyond, as he certainly did with his role in “Spideypool XXX”, and I am thrilled he got nominated, because he absolutely deserves it.”
